Muzaffarabad: The University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has received a noteworthy milestone in the 2025 World University Rankings by getting ranked at the top.
In the field of engineering education, UAJK has ranked as the top institution in AJK by the world university ranking 2025. Now ranking among the top 801-1000 universities globally. The report claims that UAJK’s outstanding engineering accomplishments are due to its superior quality research, solid industry connections, global perspective, research environment, and instructional standards.
Previously, in the year 2024, the Times Higher Education ranked UAJK first in the region and 35th nationwide for its strong infrastructure, top-notch education, and highly skilled faculty, marking another accomplishment.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Kaleem Abbasi congratulated department heads, teachers, students, administrative personnel, and the Dean of Engineering, Professor Dr Saadat Hanif Dar, on their outstanding work. He stated, “Being recognised by Times Higher Education in 2024 and now by the World University Rankings (Subject) in 2025 is a matter of immense pride for UAJK.”.
Vice-Chancellor Professr Dr Muhammad Kaleem Abbasi’s visionary leadership, steadfast dedication, and relentless efforts were credited by Dean of Engineering Profsser Dr Saadat Hanif Dar with this milestone. He commended the Engineering Department’s teachers and students on this outstanding accomplishment.
The university is located in the capital of AJK, Muzaffarabad. Established in the year 1980, the UAJK is a well-known prestigious public university.
The UAJK is a multicampus, multidisciplinary university. And the largest university in AJK. It is composed of four faculties: the faculty of engineering, the faculty of health sciences, the faculty of arts, and the faculty of sciences. It has three campuses: Jhelum Valley (Hattian Bala), Neelum (Athmuqam), and Main (Muzaffarabad). It offers multiple campuses and academic programs that specialise in arts, sciences, engineering, and medical and health sciences.
