Turkish President Erdogan extends ‘unwavering’ support to Pakistan on Kashmir issue

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday expressed full support for Pakistan’s stance and efforts to resolve the Kashmir dispute.

While addressing a joint press conference with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad, Erdogan said Pakistan had always joined voice with the voice of the Turkish President for the freedom of the people of Gaza and Kashmir. “Turkey supports the resolution of the Kashmir dispute through negotiations.”

He said under the leadership of Erdogan and Sharif, investment and trade ties between Turkiye and Pakistan reached the highest point in the history of friendship and brotherhood.

Turkish President said that the Kashmir issue should be resolved through dialogue between India and Pakistan, with due consideration for the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

Furthermore, Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that he fully supports Pakistan in the fight against terrorism and supports Pakistan’s efforts on the Kashmir issue, and Pakistan and Turkey will continue their efforts together for an independent Palestinian state.

He further added that Turkiye supports Pakistan’s efforts to resolve the Kashmir issue, while Pakistan’s support for our initiative on the Cyprus issue is important for us.

President mentioned that it is our duty to help Palestinian brothers and sisters and has raised his voice for Palestine at every forum in the world. “Turkey, along with Pakistan, raised its voice for Palestine at every forum and will continue to work together for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.”

Pakistan, Turkiye sign MoUs

Pakistan and Turkiye on Thursday signed  Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements for cooperation between Pakistan and Turkiye on Thursday.

Agreements were signed between the two countries in the fields of public relations and communications, media and communications, cultural cooperation, and audiovisual services.

Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, National Heritage and Culture Attaullah Tarar and Turkish Director of Communications Fahrettin Altan exchanged MoUs for cooperation in the fields of Public Relations and Communications and Media and Communications.

Minister for Information, Broadcasting, National Heritage and Culture Attaullah Tarar and Turkish Minister for Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan exchanged agreements in the fields of cultural cooperation and audiovisual services.
