MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Azad Jammu Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq has said that the government was working for the promotion of tourism in the picturesque AJK State on the latest lines.

Talking to a delegation of media influencer Carrie and Mac Candee, the prime minister said that the government was going to exploit huge available natural potential in the region.

Referring to the region’s breathtaking landscape, Haq said that Azad Kashmir was always a popular destination for the tourists. He admired the natural beauty, including mountains, valleys, rivers, and a temperate climate of the region.

AJK a peaceful region

He told the visiting dignitaries that the AJK is a peaceful region, due to which tourists from all over the globe visit the territory. The government, he said, was taking all possible steps to provide facilities to tourists in a bid to promote tourism in the area.

The PM further said that steps were being taken to protect forests and the natural environment.

Referring to the worsening political and human rights situation in the Indian-illegally occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Anwarul Haq said that India has turned occupied Kashmir into an open-sky prison by deploying over a million occupational military and paramilitary troops in the disputed territory.

Senior minister Colonel (retd) Waqar Ahmed Noor, ministers Chaudhry Azhar Sadiq and Abdul Majid Khan were also present during the meeting.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir has a huge potential for tourism due to its stunning Himalayan landscapes, including serene rivers, lush valleys, towering peaks, and diverse cultural heritage. The heritage makes it an attractive destination for nature-lovers and adventure seekers alike. This potential is further decorated by the region’s rich traditions and hospitality of the people.

AJK has been blessed with immense potential for tourism, which needed to be fully developed to attract more and more tourists.
