LONDON (Kashmir English): President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry has reached London today on a days-long visit to the United States and United Kingdom (UK).

As per details, President Barrister Sultan Mahmood will address a big public meeting in Birmingham on February 15 at 6 pm, where he will express his views on the Kashmir issue and the current situation in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

In addition, the President of Azad Kashmir will also visit different cities of the UK and meet the Kashmiri community, while in the next phase of the visit, he will travel to the US, where he will attend various events and hold important meetings regarding the Kashmir cause.

The purpose of this visit is to highlight the issue of Indian occupation in Kashmir at the global level and gain support for the struggle of the Kashmiri people.

The visit came after India protested British High Commissioner Jane Marriott’s last month visit to Mirpur city in Azad Kashmir, which AJK President Barrister Sultan rejected, terming the Indian government’s contention on the matter as highly ridiculous.

President said the Indian government hosted G20 summit events in the Illegally Occupied Kashmir last year and has no moral or legal justification to protest the UK envoy’s visit to Mirpur.

“India has no moral or legal justification to raise objections over the foreign diplomats’ visits to Azad Kashmir,” he said, adding that the envoys of different countries have visited the region (Azad Kashmir) before, and they will continue to do so in the future.
