ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a new Child Registration Certificate (CRC), commonly referred to as the ‘B-form’, with new security features for children above 10 years and below 18 years of age.
The authority further issued a clarification regarding the registration of the new ‘B’ form for every child, stating that previously issued forms will remain valid and have not been cancelled.
According to the official announcement, shared on NADRA’s social media, children who have already obtained a ‘B’ form, but, need to apply for a passport should get a new B form. The children between 10 and 18 years old applying for the ‘B’ form for the first time should also obtain the B-form with new security features.
To get a new B-form, the parents along with their child should visit their nearest NADRA centre or apply for the document through a Pak ID application.
According to the statement, the database regulatory authority has introduced a new B-form with additional security features including photos and fingerprints for children above 10 years and below 18 years of age. This new initiative aims to make the process of identifying children more secure and modern.
At the same time, NADRA has clarified that the already issued B-form is not being canceled and the rumors circulating on social media in this regard are baseless.
Following directives from Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, NADR, in collaboration with the Immigration and Passport (I&P) Directorate, implemented the changes.
Fee structure for B-form
NADRA revised the fee structure for the Child Registration Certificate, commonly known as B-form, last year in December, according to which, the standard fee for obtaining it remains unchanged at Rs 50.
The expedited service option for obtaining the B-form was fixed at Rs 500. The initiative was aimed to simplify the registration process and ensure timely recognition of children in the national records.
The process to apply for a child’s B-form includes the availability of a computerized birth certificate issued by the relevant Union Council along with a valid National Identity Card (NIC) of the parent [mother or parent].
