MUZAFFARABAD: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government has announced the schedule of divisional conventions of the Coordination Committee, which was formed for the restoration of local authorities and the functioning of local bodies.
Earlier, the coordination committee held meetings with local bodies at the district level.
According to the details, the divisional conventions will be held in Mirpur on February 6, Rawalakot on February 10, and Muzaffarabad on February 15.
All local government representatives will participate in the meetings, where the future course of action will be announced.
It should be noted that the government has formed these conventions with local government representatives in an effort to restore the powers of local government bodies and ensure their functionality.
Opposition Leader Khawaja Farooq Ahmed has announced full support for the ongoing process of local government representatives gaining powers and restoring local government bodies in Azad Kashmir.
The aim of these conventions is to bring local government representatives together on a platform and to decide on a common course of action to ensure the functionality of local government bodies.
In another development today, the Pakistan Army and the Department of Agriculture AJK organised an information workshop on olive and fruit tree cultivation in Baghsar Bandala, Samahni.
Local political leadership, public representatives, and experts from the Department of Agriculture participated in this workshop, while officers from the Pakistan Army provided their full support for the success of the program.
During the workshop, experts from the Department of Agriculture encouraged the participants to plant olive and other fruit tree orchards. While giving a briefing, the experts said that the climate of Azad Kashmir is very suitable for olive cultivation and by utilizing the vacant lands here, citizens can improve their economic conditions.
