ISLAMABAD (KAshmir English): Asus has launched the Zenfone 12 Ultra, a flagship smartphone that comes with major improvements in design, AI capabilities, and camera technologies.
Unlike the predecessors, which were usually released in mid-year, this is an early release slated for February 2025. The Zenfone 12 Ultra features that modern, sleek, and high-end look; 100% recycled aluminum framed and a glass display made from 22% recycled material.
It is available in Sage Green, Ebony Black, and Sakura White colors. It also has IP68 certification that helps provide some amount of ruggedness against dust and water.
It gets a 6.78-inch AMOLED LTPO display (Samsung E6) working with a 1-120 Hz adaptive refresh rate, making it perfect for gaming and other daily tasks.
Asus has also made available a 144 Hz refresh rate for gaming titles that, if supported, will enhance the complete gaming experience. The display can hit a zestful brightness peak of 2,500 nits while being protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2- for a crisp, seamless visual experience.
What’s under the hood? The Zenfone 12 Ultra has extremely powerful hardware, the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor- an up-to-45% increase in CPU performance, a GPU that operates approximately 40% faster, and cuts the NPU performance to about 40% faster.
Internals and Software
The device offers up to 16 GB of LPDDRX RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage to take care of space-appreciable responsiveness.
On the software front, Asus has put in a lot of work by paying high attention to artificial intelligence-based features indeed what is impressive is the Llama 3 8B AI model from Meta running right on the device for allowing real-time text summarization and AI-powered voice translation.
Besides, the AI Call Translator 2.0 can translate phone conversations on the fly, even in some third-party VoIP apps. Other cool features of the recording app include AI Transcript 2.0 for meeting summaries, transcribing multi-speaker conversations, and translating text instantly- such a really handy tool for working professionals.
The Zenfone 12 Ultra boasts HyperOS 2.0, powered by Android 15, that offers users an extremely fluid and optimized experience, with AI integrations and smooth performance.
Camera
With improved features making it one of the most appealing camera phones in its line, Asus invested much into the camera experience with the Zenfone 12 Ultra.
The main camera has dumped the IMX890 sensor in favor of the Sony Lytia-700, equipped with a 4th Generation 6-Axis Hybrid Gimbal Stabilization, which gives it 66% more movement correction as compared to the Zenfone 11 Ultra ensuring crystal-clear shots even in challenging shooting conditions.
A 32MP telephoto camera offers 3x optical zoom and 10-30x HyperClarity zoom, allowing users to take stunningly clear shots of distanced subjects. Likewise, an ultra-wide camera comes with a 120° field of view, making it quite apt for landscape shots and group images.
These enhancements on the telephoto, ultra-wide, and front-facing sides allow the Zenfone 12 Ultra to provide professional image and video quality to keep up with more premium flagship devices.
Battery and Pricing
One of the other features to highlight is the dual-cell battery on the Zenfone 12 Ultra, which provides 5,500 mAh juice that ensures it lasts you up to an entire day.
Users would get the phone charged from 0 to 100% in 39 minutes using 65W wired charging… minimizing the downtime. Moreover, the phone also supports 15W wireless charging via Qi 1.3. Asus has claimed good battery life for up to 26 hours on a single charge on the Zenfone 12 Ultra.
It is available in Europe, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, with the first cheapest price (`1,100). But of course, all those who purchased during the period from February 6 till 28 can get theirs at the discount price of `1,000.
