AJK President lauds JI’s contribution to Kashmir cause

MIRPUR (AJK): President Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry Sunday lauded the contribution of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan to the national Kashmir cause.

A JI delegation led by its Ameer Engineer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman called on President Azad Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry here. The JI delegation comprised of former Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir Abdul Rashid Turabi, Secretary General Raja Jahangir, Sagheer Qamar and others.

Both sides discussed issues of mutual interest and prevailing political situation in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir in detail. Speaking on the occasion, Barrister Chaudhry appreciated the JI significant contribution to Kashmir cause, expressing the hope that the party under the leadership of Eng. Rehman would continue to play its role in highlighting the Kashmir cause domestically and globally.

The President also presented a shield of honour to the JI chief for his party’s peerless contribution and services in highlighting the Kashmir issue.

Responding to the gesture, the JI chief assured the AJK President of his party’s continued support to Kashmir cause. “The JI would observe Kashmir Day all across the country including AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people.”

Engineer Rehman also lauded President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry’s pivotal role in highlight the Kashmir issue at the global level.

AJK President on terrorism

Meanwhile, President AJK Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry expressed his profound grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of 18 security personnel who embraced Shahadat while fighting terrorists in Kalat and Harnai areas of Balochistan province.

Denouncing the heinous acts of terrorism by miscreants, the President commended the Pakistani armed forces’ significant contribution and sacrifices in defending the homeland.

He made it clear that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan army in its epic struggle to weed out terrorism and terrorists acting on foreign agenda.

Barrister Sultan also expressed the optimism that the Pak army would thwart the enemy’s nefarious designs aimed at fomenting trouble in the country. He also extended his heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the martyrs’ families.
